Mount Vernon Police Department Has Nine New Police Officers
Multifaceted construction firm PCI Industries offers both private and public construction work, including project management, milling, and paving. Active in philanthropic efforts, PCI Industries supports the Mount Vernon Police Department (MVPD).
Earlier this year, the MVPD welcomed the addition of nine new police officers. They were part of the 77 new graduates from Westchester County Police Academy. The class, which belonged to the 148th session in the Basic Recruit School, received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony held at the SUNY Purchase College.
The new police officers completed 20 weeks of physical and academic training. Westchester County Police Academy constantly updates its curriculum to prepare graduates for the challenges of being police officers. During the graduation ceremony, Public Safety Commissioner Thomas Gleason urged the recruits to remember their academy training and always bear in mind what drew them to a career in law enforcement. He also thanked the Academy staff for their hard work in helping the recruits succeed.
The 77 recruits will be deployed in 15 police offices in Westchester County and one in Putnam County.
